We stayed three nights in the Standard Triple Room. Room size is comfortable for a family of three. The room is clean and neat. Room view was good and wide. The hotel is linked to a shopping mall, some restaurants and local food gift stalls for souvenir. Yamagata Train Station is also linked together. Can try the famous pork chop rice there if you have time. A convenience shop at the ground floor, very convenient. They provided choices for breakfast, either Japanese set or Western set. One of the waitress spoke good English and explained very details for each choice, in very good manner. Breakfast also included coffee, tea and juices. Their lobby was big. They have a coin laundry room but has only two washers (with dryer function, of course not dry enough), no individual dryer provided. So we drove out to use the coin laundry shops nearby. Opposite of the hotel has many local restaurants too, we tried the chicken dinner buffet, nice. Their car park is big, pls advise the front desk you need to park your car when check-in and they will tell you how to do. There has a 24 hours big supermarket can reach by feet but may need around 15 mins walk.

The public areas of the hotel looked very smart and quite upmarket, although I didn't have cause to use them. My room was a 'superior single room' and I found it quite spacious, which a small double bed for single use. It was spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. The thing I found really good about this hotel was that it is actually within the hotel complex. This was a massive help, as my main reason to stay in Yamagata was as a base to visit Yamadera; therefore the effortless nature of being able to stroll out of the hotel down to the station concourse turned out to be a real bonus!

We were looking for a hotel where we could drop our bags on the way from Zao Onsen to Ginzan Onsen and then return to stay for the night. In the morning, we were able to take a short train ride to hike up Yamadera and then return before checkout and catch our train to Tokyo. This hotel was perfect because it was literally connected to the train station and right by a big department store/food hall for good local souvenirs and bentos. It was a very nice, large, modern hotel and we did not hear any noise from the trains. Private bathroom and shower. Very good deal for the price.

Go for an upstairs corner room and, on a clear day, be rewarded with expansive views of the mountains which ring Yamagata, plus a look down on the hustle and bustle of the square below. As part of the train station complex, and with buses around town and further afield, such as to Zao Onsen, location is excellent. It's scarcely luxurious, but reliably clean and comfortable and with efficient and friendly staff. A shout-out to the helpful staff in the nearby tourist information centre, too. A great base for sightseeing in the region.

The hotel is in Yamagata station and had very easy access to. Once you get out the train gates there are signs for the hotel (literally a 2 min or less walk). The staff was really kind and helpful (especially since we didn’t speak much Japanese) . The room was clean and comfortable. I’m very particular with Japanese hotel bathrooms since they can be cramped (I hate how close the toilet ,sink and shower is in typical Japanese hotels), but this hotel bathroom was more spacious and comfortable to move around in
